(BID), we are committed to providing you with superior service while earning your trust and protecting the privacy of your individual, personal, nonpublic information. - How We Collect Your Information - We collect nonpublic personal information from you in connection with your application or renewal request from the following sources:
- Information from applications. This is personally identifiable information you provide to us on applications and other forms, by phone or online (if applicable). Information provided by applications or online may need to be verified by phone to ensure that it is accurate and current. This information includes but is not limited to your commercial enterprise(s), your name, address, telephone number, date of birth, social security number, employment and marital status.
- Information about transactions. This is information about your transactions with our affiliates and us. It includes your insurance coverage premiums and selections, your payment and claims history, and information necessary for billing and payment.
- Information from Consumer Reporting Agencies. As permitted by law, we may confirm or supplement your application information with consumer reporting agencies such as credit bureaus or the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Information about others. We may collect personal, nonpublic information about others (than the insured) in connection with your application or renewal request.
- How We Disclose Your Information - We may store, process or disclose the information we collect (described above) about your commercial enterprise(s), you and others without your permission and when permitted by law to certain third parties or organizations such as:
- An affiliate of or part of the BID family.
- A third party who assists in the fulfillment, servicing or administration of our business on our behalf.
- Unaffiliated third parties (both financial and non-financial) who assist us under a joint services agreement. These third parties may include marketing services companies or financial institutions.
- Unaffiliated third parties to respond to legal process such as court orders and subpoenas.
- How We Safeguard Your Information - We restrict access to your nonpublic personal and commercial enterprise information about you and your business to only those who have a business need to know to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal and state regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
- Your Right to "Opt Out" of Certain Disclosures - As we indicated in this Privacy Policy Notice, we collect certain nonpublic personal information about you, and we may disclose that information to certain nonaffiliated third parties for purposes other than those expressly permitted by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the federal and state regulations implementing the Act. - Accuracy of and Access to Information - If you believe that we have information about you or your commercial enterprise(s) that may be inaccurate or incomplete, please contact us immediately using any of the above prescribed methods and we will promptly update our records. You may also request access to information we have about you such as personal information that is in our records, the source of information and to whom the information has been disclosed.
- Reservation of the Right to Disclose Information in Unforeseen Circumstances - In connection with the potential sale or transfer of its interests, BID and its affiliates (if any) reserves the right to sell or transfer your information (including, but not limited to, your commercial enterprise(s) data, your name, address, age, sex, and country of residency and other information that you provide through other communications) to a third-party entity that 1) concentrates its business in a similar practice or services; 2) agrees to be BID's successor in interest with regard to the maintenance and protection of the information collection; and 3) agrees to the obligations of this privacy statement.
- Changes in Our Privacy Policy - We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy at any time. Changes to this policy will be posted on our website so that you are aware of our current Privacy Policy at all times. If we decide to make material changes to this Privacy Policy, such as the collection, use or disclosure of personal, nonpublic information, we will notify users of by email. If you have chosen to "Opt Out" (as provided by Section 4 of this Policy), then you will not receive notification of these changes.
- Links to Other Web Sites - This Web Site contains links to other web sites. BID is not responsible for and makes no representations or warranties for the privacy policies located in other sites. This privacy policy applies solely to information contained in and collected by this Web Site.
- Use of Cookies and Other Data Gathering Devices - We may use cookies or other web devices to gather information from visitors of our site so that we may customize products and services to topics which the user has shown an interest in. Most internet browsers allow you to erase, block or disable these devices from your hard drive.
- Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) - BID will not knowingly solicit, register, collect information or market products or services to any child under the age of 13 without the prior consent of the child's parent or legal guardian.
- Dispute Resolution - Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to our Privacy Policy, or the breach thereof, shall be settled by the American Arbitration Association, and judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
